Spring-blooming native ragwort (often now placed in Packera) forming basal rosettes of heart- to kidney-shaped leaves and sending up stems topped with clusters of golden-yellow daisies. Spreads by seed and short rhizomes, forming colonies in moist woods, meadows, and along streambanks. Prefers partial shade and moist, humus-rich soils and is valuable for early-season pollinators.
