This hybrid groundcover Phlox behaves similarly to Phlox subulata, but grows lower to the ground, spreads slowly, and is more restrained than popular varieties. Small, intense, violet-purple flowers have notched, upturned petals that look like pinwheels. Height 4-6".

Phlox attracts bees and butterflies to the garden. Prefers humus, medium moisture well drained soil. Drought tolerant when established. Tolerates sandy or gravelly soils and salts. Intolerant of wet, poorly drained soils. Deer resistant but the rabbits love it.
