Pale pink plume-like panicles adorn this clump-forming Chinese Astilbe with deep green ternately compound, toothed foliage. Astilbe chinensis varieties bloom slightly later in the season and are slightly more sun tolerant than x arendsii hybrids, and they can tolerate more drought, although they still prefer consistently moist, rich soils.
